THOMAS BULLOCK

Welcome Stranger, Rub N Tug, The Laughing Light Of Plenty, Otterman Empire, Map of Africa, A.R.E. Weapons - the list goes on. Thomas Bullock has had many strings to his musical bow. His path has gone from Cambridge to L.A. to New York taking him through a spectrum of sounds including West Coast psychedelic house with the Wicked crew, Electro Clash with A.R.E. Weapons, Wild Disco with Rub N Tug, Balearic Rock as Map of Africa with DJ Harvey and even a No Wave stint on Rong/DFA.

Thomas Bullock is a proper eccentric underground hero. After all, how many DJs can say they’ve formed a band who were discovered by Jarvis Cocker, host their own Sunday Tea Dance parties in their front room, and have their own highly collectable record label, Whatever We Want Records.

SMA16 features Thomas live from San Francisco jam No Way Back in San Francisco on New Years Day at 9am. He also tells of his plans to return to London, the progress of the Welcome Stranger album and his STD label. And of course, listen out for some unreleased material from the man himself.

Here's a nice video of Thomas playing live at No Way Back:
